Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Saxon
Relatively modern building in one of Solihull's 'new villages', but rather lower-brow than the nearby Dickens Heath. Tidy enough, but the pub is also much more of a 'local' than one might expect, with loud football on multiple TV screens when I visited. All that said, it does at least do real ale, with Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker and Pure UBU from Purity (£3.00) available from two of the three handpumps.

The Saxon is a traditional Pub with a warm, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Located in the heart of Cheswick Green Solihull providing a mix of entertainment including regular live music and disco's.
All the food is homemade and freshly prepared. They have good wines, beer and cask ales which are all well kept. The rotating Guest Ales include: Timothy Taylor, Abbotts Ale, Bombadier, Broadside, Speckled Hen, Boon Doggle and various Marstons Real Ales.
They hold a POKER NIGHT on both SUNDAY and TUESDAY evenings, WEDNESDAYS and THURSDAYS is Curry and a Pint Night.. FRIDAY or SATURDAY is band or disco night. Please Phone 01564 700 124 for details.
They show LIVE SPORTS on the BIG SCREEN and also have Wi-Fi fitted for FREE internet access.
