Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George

Seemingly basic pub on the east side of the town centre, but there are still signs within the 'U'-shaped bar that it might once have been a bit more interesting. However, although the semi-modern furniture is rather dull, the general appearance is tidy enough. Pool table and Indian food menu (that doesn't really correspond with the 'Bar & Grill' signage...). A small decking beer garden can also be found at the back. No real ale, unsurprisingly, and the Guinness had run out, but after a bit of a hike on a hot evening I had a Coors Light (£2.70) in preference to the keg M&B Mild that would have been my default choice.

Soup Dragon left this review about The George

A detached corner pub in yellow render and red salt glazed bricks. Another that now looks a little tired from the outside, with cracked and a broken window.

The interior is an L-shaped room with a dart board and music system at one end and a pool table at the other. The decor is a yellow and cream wood panel with some orangy 70s styled flower wallpaper, with part wood floor and looked quite tidy. The TVs were not on and the walls had those familiar bistro styled flower pictures. The service was functional and the clientele consisted of a couple of locals. The music was supplied via the radio and was too loud, in fact it got distorted.

Beer; no real ale, tap stuff with an OK M&B MILD

A basic pub, wothing for the real ale fan and would be better if they turned the music down.
