Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cottage Spring

Homely Black Country Ales pub, with a refurbished yet traditional 'L'-shaped bar with a mix of furniture and banquette seating in the two bay windows at the front. There is also a dartboard and a couple of TV screens for the sport here, plus another (sparsely furnished) room at the back with another small counter. With seven of the eight handpumps in use, I found the brewery's Pig on the Wall, BFG (on offer at £2.70) and rarer English Winter plus a couple of Sharp's beers - Coaster and Sea Fury - and a pair of ciders.

Dark and deserted tonight when i went past - looked closed

This pub has re-opened as a part of the Black Country Ales chain. The facade, in cream render, is that of a typical Victorian (although i can only trace it being a pub from the 30s - likely a beerhouse before) cottage styled Black Country pub, with two bay windows flanking a central entrance and three upstairs windows. The pub extends behind where there is also a patio area. The interior has an open front room, with a smaller room at the back. The decor is a sympathetic blue and cream patterned papers, with yellow embossed paper below. It has a white ceiling and carpet floor. There is a fireplace in the front and red pattered bench seats, as well as having old prints on the walls. The back room is mainly in white. The front room has a nice carved wood bar, darts, a few TVs showing the footy and there was no music. The service was fine and a good mixed clientele was in. Beer; usual three BCA pulls - Fireside, BFG and a cracking Pig on the Wall MILD. There were also Abbot and Empire IPA. A really good little pub, with perhaps not the greatest choice of non-BCA beers. With a couple of Holden's pubs nearby, it is an excellent addition. I will return.
