After a six figure refurbishment the pub reopened in June and was quite busy on my Friday afternoon visit. It was only after ordering a pint of lager that i noticed the 4 hand pulls at the front of the bar,so i decided to stay for an extra 15 mins here and sampled the Coach House Gunpowder MILD which was spot on.

February 2013 - Party of 13 Pre-Booked 5pm. We arrived ahead of time and had pre-ordered our food and were pleasantly surprised at how flexible they were. Food arrived quickly and was on the whole very well prepared. Many of us took advantage of the 2 for £10 menu and the meals were very reasonably sized and good value for money. Those who ordered bigger meals ended up with a huge platter. The thing I like about their current menu is that they do not rip you off with the prices of the deserts (from £2 to £5 for a share sundae).
We did have an issue with one of the meals coming out wrong and also this Beef and Ale pie had more air than beef in it. However, when the manager came over to check everything was alright they did offer a free desert as compensation.
For me, my Gammon steak and egg was perfect and the apple pie and custard for desert was scrumptious.
If you are in the area and looking for a very reasonably priced meal in pleasant surrounding then you could not do much better than here. Highly recommended.

Tuesday 17 May 2011. Party of two did not book. Excellent food at a really reasonable cost. Food is cooked to order and so when it's busy you can end up waiting a while and since the prices are so reasonable it is very often busy. Still the food when it arrives is well worth waiting for. Staff are very attentive and the atmosphere is jovial most of the time. Sometimes can get rather busy with children and so the noise level can be very high. However, this evening we were able to hold a conversation at normal decibel levels and the atmosphere was most relaxing. Food was well prepared and very tasty, if fact portions so big we had to forego deserts - ah well, always next time.
