This is a gem, at least in part. The original bit at the front was presumably a couple of cottages. A flagstoned bar to the right, a wonderful snug to the left, beams, quarry tiles, wooden settles and a roaring fire, but unfortunately painted in that faecal grey that is so unaccountably popular these days. If your shit is that colour it means your liver is shot, which makes it an even less appropriate choice for licensed premises. It is quite rightly in the Camra inventory. Further back is a huge modern restaurant extension which, thanks to a separate entrance, doesn't encroach on the pub too much. The effect is spoiled somewhat by the car park out the front which gives the impression of a white van dealership at times. There's a kiddies playground to one side and an outdoor drinking area to the rear and more parking for the vast numbers who come out from Coventry and Birmingham at weekends. The food - usual pub stuff - seems ambitiously priced for what it is.

Abbott, Bass, Doombar and a tasteless 3.8% house beer, probably a re-badged GK affair. Despite that it's well worth a trip out, and is open all day from 9AM. Apart from anything else it would make a far better pit stop on the M6 than the nearby Corley Services.

A large village pub with wooden beams and flagstone floor. Small snug leads to a large room at the rear used to serve food from the very good pub grub menu. Tables are also at the front and side which leads to a large decked area. Food is served all day. A good selection of real ales. The garden also has a childrens play area. Popular pub for walkers and cyclists also worth diverting off the nearby M6.
