A large detached Hungry Horse chain pub and eatery with a front patio area. It is a modern 60's pub, a rebuild of an earlier pub on the site. The place has a low-level frontage with central entrance and is in cream.

The interior has two large L-shaped rooms. To the left is the family room, with kid's play area and grabbing machine and to the right, the adult area, which culminates in a sport's bar at the back of the L, which has a pool table and several TVs showing, yes, sport. The decor is a mix of colours; brown, green, red, with patterned wallpaper. It is mainly set-up for dining, with high stool, pouffes, comfy seats and some patterned like cow-hides. Chopped wood and big lamps are present, as is a mix of old photos, strange angled photos and Spitfire photos on the walls. The music is charty, but at a decent level. The service was OK and there was a mixed clientele, a few in for the food and others attracted to the sport's bar. I didn't eat, so can't comment on that.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with GK IPA. On handpull there was Abbott and a rather poor Spekky Hen.

The first time i had been here since i lived in the area in the 1970s - 1980s. My experience didn't really encourage me to return. It is aimed at both the family and young 'sports' types, i just found it dull.
