Real Ale Ray left this review about 42nd Street / The King George
This is a large modern pub along the seafront, which has excellent views looking out to sea. The interior layout consisted of a good sized bar area facing you as you enter. The lounge area had a good selection of seating areas, the best ones obviously were along the front windows. We were lucky to get the corner bay, which had panoramic views.
Whitley Bay Brewing Co. is based here and brew for the pub. Four handpumps on the bar with three on, so we went for the Ghostship IPA and the Spanish City Blonde, both ales were excellent.
