June 2014 - Saturday pre-booked table for 10. From the main road this looks like many other country pubs and even when you enter this illusion is not shaken with the rather dark and cozy interior BUT added to the back is a lovely conservatory and a beer garden that is fantastic in the lovely weather. There is also a fairly new and substantial play area for the little ones.
The menu is typical 'fayre' with a good selection of starters and the mains are all reasonably priced. The plates are big and the portions fill most of them out but we were a little disappointed by the lack of family favourites on the desert menu, so much so that only three of the party part-took. Still that was the only downside as the service was reasonably quick and polite and all-in-all we really enjoyed our meal here. Definitely recommend this hidden little gem.
