Thought this pub was fantastic - mainly due to the service from an old school landlord. Shirt and Tie and made me feel really welcome, as a solo diner.
Beautiful frontage and views looking over Richmond Green.
A Greene King pub - with their IPA on and Landlord as guest.
Food was superb and for Richmond/London, reasonably priced.
Very enjoyable visit.

A very Richmond sort of pub, in a nice location overlooking the corner of the green. The opening wall at the front is a key feature, at least in the summer, and a function room is signed upstairs. The interior was slightly dowdy, as was the house beer which is presumably the usual Greene King offering. Alternative cask ales were IPA and TT Landlord. Adequate, but didn't appeal greatly.

I’ve utilised this one quite a few times over the years for an alfresco pint when in Richmond due to its key selling point of the fantastic location on Richmond Green. It’s a tossup between this one and the Fullers run Princes Head in that respect but being back in Richmond this week we decided to utilise this one again, but this time for a spot of lunch so sat inside, although in one of the front window seats which still afford the excellent views of the Green but with the certainty of a proper non-plastic glass.
It’s run by the Metropolitan Pub Company, which is owned by Green King so no surprise that GK IPA is permanent alongside another badged GK product which, for this visit, was something called Triple C. Normally I don’t have to go anywhere near these as the other two pumps usually have something more interesting on which this time was Wimbledon Brewery Common Pale Ale and Exeter Brewery Falls Over, both of which were very good in their differing ways.
Very good friendly service levels from the bar staff who showed no corporate allegiance to GK and when they knew I was there for the ale were more interested in pushing the virtues of the Exeter Brewery seasonal ale and convinced me that it had a lot going on with its 5% ABV and fortunately they were not wrong.
