Following change of ownership, now an Irish pub with sports and various entertainments. Name changing from the Cardinal Wolsey to Sextons.

This is now very much a restaurant and not very much a pub at all. There are two areas, the main room with a bar counter along part of the back wall plus a smaller area through an opening to one side. As I walked into a deserted room, deserted apart from the manager/owner and a sidekick, I actually asked if this is still a pub. No real answer but I was served a half of Sheps Spitfire (£1.90) without being given a napkin. Every single table bar one was set for dining, the only one not so had two benches covered in scatter cushions making sitting down difficult. Boarded flooring, cream and grey décor, walls lined with wine racks. A couple of fireplaces but I doubt ever used, both had pots of dried flowers on the hearths. Various mirrors, wine related prints and a large iron clockface complete the décor.
As well as the Spitfire they had on Kent's Best, surprisingly given the target clientele, my half was fine, but it really isn't a pub anymore. To reinforce this assessment, fillet steak, blue cheese and bourbon sauce and "frites" was on a specials board at £28.
I remember this place as a proper pub with pool and darts in the side room, perhaps it will be again one day one hopes as on today's viewing they are not exactly doing a roaring trade.

Now re-opened, we visited as refugees from Hampton Court Flower show, on a hot & sunny Friday in July 2013

From previous reviews it seems this place has now a had a big makeover, aimed now at food trade, with restaurant tables, no pool, dartboard etc that I could see

There is an outside patio, which had a chef doing grills to to order on it, but we never had food because we had already eaten, but what we saw looked tasty

Could not spot a car park, but was not really looking for one

No draught beer that I could see, I had a tap cider, name forgotten

What really stood out was the attentiveness of all staff, most of whom seemed to be Italian, and they were on the ball at all times, cheerful & helpful, a credit to the place

For that reason I mark it 7, and if you are in area and fancy some food this may be a good spot to look in

PS the toilets were spotlessly clean
