Previously the Culford Arms, then The Griffin, this roadside pub now appears to be the tap for Brewshed, whose brewing plant is a few yards down the road towards Bury St Edmunds; it was originally on the same site as the pub. The pub is still owned by GK though. There is a car park at the front. They offer B&B accommodation and are making a name for themselves as a half-decent gastro pub. You can also buy Brewshed beers in tins over the bar to take awaway, though beer in tins, like other things, may taste the same, but it’s still feels wrong. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, though they looked a bit disappointed that we weren’t eating. The single large bar and dining room has restored floorboards and tables which are comfortably spaced. There is plenty of room for those who just want a drink. There were two ales on draft, one from Brewshed and GK IPA; the former was in good condition, as you would expect. It’s a very good place to stop and enjoy a meal and a pint, provided you don’t mind the prices and the fussiness of some of the dishes.

What a find. This is a local pub with a one star AA rosette. The food in fantastic, and the staff are very polite and friendly. Such a little gem just outside Bury St Edmunds. If your in the area this is well worth a visit.
