There was a good atmosphere generated by the locals and friendly barmaid during a recent Thursday evening visit to the Wharf Inn. The front seating area is carpeted and laminate runs up to the bar counter to the right. In the rear is a pool table and table football and televisions are found throughout for airing the advertised Sky Sports. The interior feels like it has been knocked through from much smaller rooms. Standard and premium keg was available, and one of the two banks of two hand pumps was in action drawing Wainwright. Worth a look if passing by road or the nearby canal.

The Wharf Inn is away from the middle of congleton and it is close to the canal.

This was a fairly smart locals pub and there was only one real ale on here which was Bombadier this was ok but nothing special.

I play dominoes every Sunday night. I meet up with Malcolm, Ian and the ex landlord, Harry. Good times are had. Sadly Harry has now passed away. September 2008
