Average Rating:
More of a gastropub following its refurbishment and again independant of any chain, dating back to 1732 this former coaching inn offers a contempary feel whilst retaining a friendly atmosphere. Service is efficent and attentive and the menu rather more advanced than the run of the mill 'pub grub'. Sandwiches include poached salmon, starters range from soup to bantry bay mussels with warm cibatta whilst mains include pizzas, burgers, steaks and beer battered cod. expect to pay around £5.00 for a starter and £10-15 for a main course (Dec 2007 prices). Extensive bar with real ales. The only thing that prevents a 4 star rating is that on my visit the real ale and some of the menu items had run out
