UPDATE: I returned here and ate. The food was fine and very resonable. Eccleshall is blessed with some good pubs that do good food
*****************************************************************************************
A terraced, white painted brick Georgian styled pub and eatery with black paintwork and a rear beer garden. In the GBG 2011.

The interior has an open plan long front bar/lounge in white, with a white and beam ceiling and a nice central brick arch feature. There is a brick fireplace in the bar section (nice fire going too), along with a TV that wasn't on at my visit and a coffee machine. Food was served in its own little room at the back, also in white, with a brick fireplace. I didn't eat here, so can't comment on the food, but the prices looked reasonable. There was also a very small room at the back with a dart board in it. The pub is littered with masses of Victoriana and ecclectic prints on the walls, covering all things - an education in itself! The service was good and there was soft general music in the background.

Beer; tap stuff, with Peroni. On handpull there was Pedigree, Banks's Bitter, Titanic Capt Smith, Black Sheep Bitter, a decent Joules Pale Ale and great Holden's Golden Glow.

A superb pub, great choice of beer, well kept and a decent menu. Worthy of it's GBG status and probably the best in Eccleshall in my opinion. One i went back to before my last bus - you could spend hours in here.
