Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Olde Dun Cow Inn

The more upmarket of the two pubs in Colton, with a reasonable number of diners in on a Thursday evening. Numerous small seating / dining areas, all refurbished in a smart, semi-traditional style. Landlord and an excellent Butty Bach (£3.90) available from two of the four handpumps. The small Cowshed village shop in the car park is also a positive legacy from the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown.

Soup Dragon left this review about Ye Olde Dun Cow Inn

A detached white rendered pub, restaurant and B&B, with dormer windows. It has a beer garden.

The interior was open plan and mainly in white and exposed brick, with ceiling beams and what seemed an impressive brick kitchen range in the area where the party was. It was difficult to see much as there was a private party in the bar area, but there was clearly a separate dining area and a small area for darts as well. Decoration was supplied by a few pictures and beer mirrors – Bass and Caffreys. Background music was mixed and at a decent level, the service was very friendly and the clientele mixed – it was busy with mainly diners and party goers. We did not eat, but the menu seemed nice.

Beer; tap stuff, with three handpulls; Pedigree and a decent Timothy Taylor Landlord and 3 Spires Late Hopped.

I enjoyed this place despite having to sit at the bar (Mrs Soup having tea!) as there was a party going on and a rammed dining area. Only real gripe I would have is that there wasn’t a MILD and in my opinion and that it had been a bit too modernised - just the Dun Cow would be better!
