Country pub / restaurant located a short distance south-west of Rugeley on the edge of Cannock Chase. Opened out and comprehensively refurbished inside, featuring a staple-shaped layout with a general bar and dining area on opposite sides of the central servery (plus a couple of other small offshoot rooms). Just Doom Bar and Butty Bach (£3.70) from the two banks of four handpumps, but at least the latter was in good shape.

The Horns Inn is a smart upmarket pub that is situated quite close to Rugeley.
Once inside there is a decent sized single room which has lots of different drinking areas, the bar is in the middle area and faces inwards, the room is bare boarded and looks quite smart, the seating is normal tables and chairs.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep bitter which was a decent enough drink, the other beers were Coach House Winter Ale and Doom Bar.
Food seems to a big draw to this pub but as drinkers we could have a drink anywhere and was made welcome.
I did'nt see any TVs but there was some quiet background music playing.

What was originally an old cottage style pub last century has been significantly added to and rendered up in white to create a pub/restaurant with beer garden overlooking a pool/woldlife area, in a country village

The interior of the pub has two areas; a bar and a restaurant, both i think (the light plays tricks) with walls in a split white and mustard kind of colour. There are a number of general prints and some nice photos of the pub through time. The bar, sadly for traditionalists like me, is now a sofa and comfy chair area mainly, though there are some tables, with a pool table and Sky TV. The restuarant has blue table cloths and a modern brick fireplace that looks, well, modern. The service was friendly and the clientele a mix, many being outside for the sun.

Beer; tap stuff with the general Abbots and Pedigree on handpull - the Pedigree being OK.

Not traditional enough for my personal taste, and the beer choice was too basic - though of course they did have real ale and i didnt try the food. The beer garden was great overlooking the pool - so if you are not a traditionilst and their food is as good as it looked, i am sure it would be fine.
