Bucking Fastard left this review about Red Lion

From the outside, quite a basic Marston's pub with a traditional interior arranged around a central bar.To the left there is a real fireplace and then a raised section with table football and darts board while to the right there is another darts board and an interesting collection of bottled beers from the 70's and 80's.The bar itself is brick faced with quarry tiled flooring and two ales were offered namely Pedigree (the locals choice) and Jennings Cumberland (£3.10) on my trip.Muzak was at modest levels and was from the 70's,which probably was about the time of the last makeover, with the interior now looking a little tired.
Decent boozer but not enough here to justify a revisit.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Red Lion Inn

The Red Lion is a small white painted pub.
Once inside there was a single L shaped room which had a tiled floor to the right and carpeted to the left, there was a raised area hidden behind the bar this had a few tables and chairs and a bar football table, the seating in the main area was normal tables and chairs, the pub had an old fashioned feel to it and to go with this radio 2 was playing some rubbish music.
This pub is a Marstons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Pedigree which was a nice drink the other beer was Marstons Citra from their single hop range.
There were a few other customers in and i thought it was a decent enough pub but was in need of a bit of decorating.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion Inn

A nice little terraced Marston's cottage style pub in white painted brick, with black paintwork, with patio area

The inside that i saw was a single U-shaped room around a central undressed brick serving bar area. The decor was mostly a cream coloured wallpaper, with some wood panel and more exposed brickwork. The ceiling was a white and beamed one. There is a cavernous brick fireplace, adorned with pans and other ornaments, and a few pictures, jugs and othe ephemera are dotted about. There are a couple of dart boards, one is on the raised area to the side of the serving bar, which appeared to also have a bar footy game - but i couldnt see clearly. There was a TV, showing the footy muted, and a bit of music played when the quizmaster took a break. The sevice was fine and the place was well attended by a mixed crowd of locals for the weekly quiz.

Beer; tap stuff, though no MILD. Pedigree and Banks's Bitter were on handpull, the bitter was OK.

A nice village event and the place had a good atmosphere. It was my first visit at it was closed during my daytime visit to Barton before, but i am sure i will pop back.
