Alan Winfield left this review about The Sun Inn

The Sun Inn is situated on the main through Everton.
Once inside there is a square shaped room to the front left which has a stone floor and is also part carpeted, there was a real fire on the go,which was nice on a cold November day,the seating in this room is bench type and chairs plus two tall tables and chairs, there is an oblong shaped room to the right and another L shaped room to the rear right which is carpeted and has normal tables and chairs, there is a pool table in a separate room to the rear, where there is also a darts board.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Welbeck Abbey Harvey, which went down well, the other beers were Dukeries Farmers Hand and Taylor Landlord.
I thought this was a very pleasant pub to have a drink in.

Will Larter left this review about The Sun Inn

On the main road that by-passes most of the pleasant village of Everton, the Sun doesn't have the same village local feel as the Blacksmiths Arms. The central bar serves two separate rooms, a public bar to the right, with pool table and dart board - though it looks like the pool table acts as oche as well, so it'll be either one game or the other, not both - and a solid fuel stove; to the left are rooms that could be characterised as lounge or dining rooms, though there's nothing formal about the tables.

There are three hand pumps, though one has an air of neglect in the corner of the bar counter, and one is a Black Sheep stainless steel pump that has been adapted by obliterating the words Black Sheep and was actually dispensing Fullers London Pride. The other beer available on the pump facing away from me was Timothy Taylor Landlord, and I went for a half of this to occupy the time before heading for my bus. The beer had an unusual, slightly musty flavour to it, though it was not in the least undrinkable. The room was an interesting one, with leather-backed benches, including one with a high seat and foot rail. Sporting pictures adorned the walls, and this would make a pleasant spot for a longer stay than I could manage.

Getting here could be a problem if you don't have your own transport - bus services are infrequent and the 27a has to be pre-booked or it won't run - call 01427 679 346. If you arrive on foot like I did, you may well find the front door locked - just walk round the corner to enter the pub from the car park. Departing was less problematic - my bus driver was actually waiting for me at the stop by the car park entrance...that's service!
