E TA left this review about The Red Tile Inn

A 17th Century village pub, originally The Cossington Inn. It’s family owned and run. There is a car park with bits of garden dotted around it, a separate skittle alley and a main house. You enter the main public bar which is tiled and has some comfy seating and a large TV in what used to be an inglenook. To the right and up a couple of steps is a small lounge bar, to the right two conjoined rooms which are now the restaurant area. Sadly this was not operating when we visited, so I can’t comment on the food. I can, though, comment on the reception – or lack of it – from the young barman, who rather reluctantly got up from his conversation to serve us. There is a skittle alley at the back and a pool table in the lounge area. The locals, somewhat more mature, were friendlier and ready to chat, and the landlady, when she appeared later, seemed quite pleasant. Two ales on, Butcombe Original and Tribute, were in good condition. Worth stopping for a drink, and I’d be very happy to come back in when the kitchen’s back in action to try the food.
