Alan Hurdle left this review about The Highwayman
A large food orient(at)ed pub on the edge of Oswestry town centre. Not as modern and upmarket as the nearby Oswald's Cross but I feel it has a better ambience.
The gentleman behind the bar (I assume the landlord), instructed the kitchen and ran the bar with an efficiency more akin to Gorden Ramsey (-F) than Basil Fawlty. Service was prompt and courtious (TableTable take note!).
The bar sold three cask ales - Marstons Burton Bitter and Empire, and Banks's Original.
