UPDATE
Now a pub again and under the ownership of Oak Taverns (they have the noted Cross Keys in Thame). Continuing the wet-led USP, this had four beers available, in the form of XT's 4 and 8, Animal (also XT) Ermine and Theakston's Best Bitter, with the Ermine and 8 both in good shape. Internal decor remains similar with the exposed stone to the right on entry retained and part-boarded, part-parquet floor around the L-shaped bar. Busy on a Sunday afternoon/early evening with a pleasing mix of young and old in attendance shows that the wet-led model definitely can work, and kudos to them.

Now re-opened as a cafe bar which also peddles 'antique, vintage and retro interiors for the home and garden'. The internal layout is much the same as before, an L-shaped bar faces you on entry serving an L-shaped room the stone-walled interior now mostly rendered over except some bits in and around the large open fireplace to the right. Wooden flooring in the main area with flagstone at the back before a raised bit housing the 'antiques' et al. The bar counter is primarily commandeered by cakes and keg taps and handpumps have been removed, the beery concessions bottled Cotswold Lager and a range of Shotover bottles for £4.50 which are good on the beer miles if anything. The patio / garden out back is quaint, although you need a nice day to enjoy it and opening hours are limited to 9-5 Monday to Saturday. At least it's not another pub converted to a house, and at least this incarnation is far better than any Frankie & Benny's entry on this site. Scored 4
