The only pub in this village which, like some of the others in the Didcot surrounds, is under GK ownership. This has the newer livery outside and appears to have had a bit of a makeover of late, with half-height wood panelling (painted grey) around some of the perimeter. The bar is L-shaped and has a carvery extension at its far reaches. Although the interior is now open-plan, there's an area towards the rear which semi-doubles up as a dining area. Two ales from the three pumps - St Edmunds Ale and a pale ale called Kittiwake which was good. Soulless on my visit - just one other punter in, and silent apart from the occasional random song generated from a jukebox at roughly two-minute intervals. Marks more for the beer selection (which could easily have been GK IPA, et al) than anything else.
