Remains as described by AW below, though no longer owned by HN and no obvious food offer. Depressingly empty on an unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon, just us and another couple sat outside in the yard. A nose around gave the impression the building is getting a bit tumble down and is in need of renovation. There was a reversed Pride pump but the friendly lady serving said they'd given up on cask, too much getting thrown away, though they were considering polypins. So we stuck to eurofizz.
Judging by its FB it's a popular enough local, making much of its free vend pool table, but there's not much for the passing traveller.

The Rose and Crown is an old looking pub that is situated on the very busy banbury road.
There are a few steps up to get in this pub, once inside there were two rooms the room to the right is the pool room the main drinking room and bar is to the left this room had a stone floor and normal tables and chairs, for people wanting to dine there is a large seperate restaurant to the rear of the pub.
This pub is a Hook Norton tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Hookey bitter and this was the worst Hook Norton drink of the day the beer was just drinkable but not very nice the other beer was Old Hookey.
The landlord was Spanish so probably did'nt know a lot about keeping real ales!
Another customer asked for a drink of San Miguel which i assumed the landlord would keep pretty well but shortly after getting his drink he returned it saying it smelt and tasted of bad eggs!
This pub was a big dissapointment after travelling so far to do it.
