Alan Winfield left this review about The Old Cricket Players

The Old Cricket Players was a large stand alone pub that was situated in the hockley area of central Nottingham.
The pub was an Home Ales tied house but had operated under the Berni Inn banner.
Once inside this pub was quite large with rooms on different levels and it was also quite smart with carpets throughout and comfortable seating, the pub did food which was unusuall in the early 80s.
There were two real ales on the bar we usually had the Home bitter which was quite average in here the other beer was Home mild.
Sadly this pub was pulled down several years ago when the hockley and lace market areas were being redeveloped, there are now some modern trendy flats on its site just up from the main entrance to the ice arena.

Pub first visited 1981
