The Beechdale Hotel is a large solid brick 30s pub that is now under the ownership of Greene King and located in the beechdale estate a five minute walk from the main boulevard. . It has always been a bit rough but on entering it was much more generic than I thought it would be with less of a spit and sawdust atmosphere and more of a standard GK pub vibe. There was the usual tv, fruit machine and keg offerings available but the long central bar did have one hand pump on which was very surprising. Unfortunately the Abbot pump was turned around and I was told that “we only have it on occasionally” which didn’t give me much hope but does show that it is sometimes possible to get a drop of real stuff in here but when is anyone’s guess. We had a pint of Hardy and Hansons cool for A good value £2.10 but unfortunately this was a terrible drink, nothing like what I thought and was super fizzy and super cold. The other less generic options were Ruddles best keg which I have not seen before. This pub is a bit of a local boozer with no other pubs in the area rea so a lot of working men in here but all were well behaved on my visit and no one seemed unpleasant. Overall basic estate boozer that has not got a grant selection and really only used by people in the surrounding area. No real reason to visit here again.

The Beechdale is a large 30s built pub that is situated on the beechdale estate.
Once inside this pub had a very large bar which was fairly basic with small tables and chairs, there was a seperate lounge but i did'nt look in this room.
This pub used to be a Kimberley tied house and there was one real ale on the bar this was Kimberley bitter and this was a decent drink.
This pub is still up and running and has real ales on the bar.
