Friendly village pub with a couple of bars to the front, a smaller room to the rear right and a restaurant upstairs. The front left room was packed when I arrived early on a Wednesday evening. With plenty of bar blockers, I gave up trying to get served in that room and wandered into the much quieter room on the right-hand side, having already surveyed the pumpclips in the crowded room.
Service was friendly and I sensed that everybody knew one another in here. Nevertheless, nobody seemed too surprised that there was a stranger in their presence. 3 real ales on were Metalhead Dark Secret & Old Knacker & Rigg & Furrow Run Hop Run. One of three pubs in the village, this was the only one I visited.

This is a good traditional pub serving Marstons smooth and pedigree, also available on out visits at new year was Bank's bitter.
All of the beers were well kept.
We had the pleasure of an open fire and friendly locals.
The pub allows dogs and children in all areas. During our visits no food was available, not sure if they intend to start doing food or not.
We went on New Years day for a couple of hours, would have stayed longer but it was Kareoke night!!! however, we recommend as a tradtional pub with good company.
