The Briars is a large L-shaped pub with a mix of booth seating and high tables at the front where multiple televisions for airing football are located. A dartboard is up on the left wall and at the rear is a raised seating area that was full of dining families during a midweek evening visit before Christmas. The bar supports standard keg alongside Peroni and the three hand pumps were drawing Wainwright, Sharps Doom Bar and Black Sheep’s Blitzen. This is a Sizzling Pub so cheap food is available, mostly grilled meats. The service was polite, but I wouldn’t visit one of this chain’s pubs just for a beer.

Pretty standard estate pub in a nice area. The main emphasis is on food and live sport here being currently run under the Sizzling Pubs banner. Had a couple of meals which haven't lived upto much. Ale offerings are Doom Bar and Wainwright. Not too much to recommend this place unless you want a cheap meal.
