Old-school Spoons wedged into a an old hotel building with various different rooms and areas, leaving you to guess what the layouts might once have been. The best feature is that it is easy to find a different space if you don't like the one you are in. Still liberally covered in informative picture panels, including a lot of Alice in Wonderland which had local connections. Three Saltaire ales were on alongside the regulars and condition seemed ok. Fair enough.

Packed on my lunchtime visit. We only called in for lunch and I was driving so I didn't look too closely at the beers! There were at least 3 guests on with one of them from Hambletons. The food was decent.

Like many of the JDW hotels set in old buildings this is a rambling affair with several different areas. It's certainly not a large outlet but is quite a pleasant place and was busy on my Saturday afternoon visit. There are only eight hand pumps but they had six festival ales and the two GK beers. I went for the Inveralmond Doracha (£2.05 festival price) which was in good nick.
Like most of their hotels the traditional breakfast is more expensive. The JDW web site says that the pub (not the hotel) has disabled access but I couldn't see it nor the customary disabled toilet.
Putting all that aside it's a good Spoons.
