This Marston's pubs on one of the main roads through Hornsea looks quite imposing from the outside. Inside, there is a central bar serving rooms on either side, with a smaller room to the rear.

I did get a few strange looks from the locals when I walked in. There were a few slightly oddball characters in and I was soon greeted by a rather smelly dog that had been brought in by one of the local youth.

The barmaid had noticed me walk in, but seemed a bit confused about my whereabouts at first, looking for me on the wrong side of the bar. I'd entered one side to take a look at what ales were on and then headed the other side to see if there was anything different. Bar blockers either side weren't exactly helping. Pedigree is the regular beer here and the guest was Wainwright.

TVs were showing typical daytime fare, with some antiques nonsense on that nobody was watching. Music was also playing.

There's nothing particularly wrong with this place, but there's nothing particularly special about it either.

The Rose and Crown is a decent looking black and white pub in the middle of Hornsea.
This pub has still got two rooms i went in the left hand side which was quite smart and seemed more like a lounge, there were three handpumps on the bar but one of these was not ready i had a drink of Banks's Original and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Wychwood Dragons Bite which was also a decent drink.
I quite liked this pub and would happily go in here again.
