Awful, we are locals and five of us went in for a meal only to be told the card machine was out of order. So we had to go into town to draw some cash out to pay for our meals only to see someone else pay with a debit card. When I asked the barman he said we tell everyone that so people do not pay by card for drinks. I asked why not just put a sign up saying that cards are only to be used when ordering food, he said well that's what our manager has told us to do so that's what we do, when I asked to speak with the manager conveniently there was not one on shift. I was told would be best to speak with the owner however you will be lucky to catch her here, whole experience was a joke.

The Southcliffe Hotel is a largish pub /bar that is on the sea front.
Once inside there is a largish room that is fairly well furnished,on the few occasions that i have been in here it has always been busy and had a lively atmosphere,this is not the sort of pub to take your mam in.
When i first went in this pub there was one real ale on the bar this was Websters Yorkshire bitter and this was a pretty poor drink.
This pub is ok for a quick drink.

This place is fantastic! I and my family use this Hotel on a regular basis, it has both a lively and friendly atmosphere and the staffs are great. This hotel is by far one of the best in the area, with its great choice of food and rooms too suit every taste.
The Hotel and bar are well kept and have friendly bar staff, that will cater to anyone’s needs. We have spent numerous evenings in the bar for family occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
The food is also traditional, with a range of home cooked dishes, from Sunday roasts to chicken Mississippi. With service all day, you can grab yourself a warming breakfast or a late evening dish.
The rooms of the hotels are just what you would expect of an upmarket hotel with sea views and homely, cosy feeling. We stayed in the penthouse suite equipped with a plasma TV and Freeview television.
Overall I would recommend this place to anybody, from near or afar. We will defiantly be back again.
