Average Rating:
Not too bad - a historic pub which has been done up a bit but not over the top. Serves Wychwood Brewery beers, including the seasonal beers like today's Dragon's Bite which strangely didn't have a proper pump clip (unlike the Hobgoblin). Excellent value at £1.80 per pint, and my cheese and tomato roll must have cost less that a quid (which is very good going for South-east England in 2009). Main downside is that it is one of those pubs plastered with notices about drugs and forged £20 notes which suggests that the clientele sometimes differs from the normal-looking bunch of regulars I saw on a Sunday afternoon. (NB - Review dates from April 2009.)

Probably the second best pub in central Ashford.
The fact that the best is (probably) a Wetherspoons speaks volumes, but the Swan is OK. And is certainly better than the youth club over the road
