Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Platform 5

Music bar and venue in part of the former Kent Arms, with an in-house radio studio (broadcasting live when I stopped by). Limited seating as you would expect. Also, sadly, no real ale (again as you would expect). Had a quick bottled Doom Bar (£3.50) before catching my train from the nearby railway station (which now has two more platforms following completion of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, so I suppose that this place should really be called Platform 7...).

Steve C left this review about Kent Arms

The Kent arms has been fully refurbished and is now a wine bar a restaurant that goes by the name of Platform 5 which is a reference to the nearby Ashford International Railway Station. Being a wine bar there is no draught beer, but bottled Shepherd Neame ales are available along with bottles of lager with the Peroni coming in at £3.50 a pop. The décor is pretty bland and clinical and the larger right hand side of the pub is used as a restaurant. The tiny little bar is located in the left hand side of the pub where there was a guy playing a guitar. I found the barman and waitresses to be very friendly and I got the feeling that this place hasn’t been open that long.

Wine bars aren’t my scene at all so I’ll not be returning, but I was glad to find this place so close to the station as it was good for killing half an hour between trains.

I have just going back to this pub as it is under new ownership. This place has improved a lot with drinks the lowest pub price in Ashford with a pub that has a pool table and juke box.
