A large, impressive looking pub straight up the road from Wallasey Grove Rd station. The interior is basically L-shaped and there is a beer garden to the rear, though its more set on decking than grass. Its very foody and has the usual large menu clutter on the tables. Beer wise the real ale is usually dull.

The Nelson is a large mock tudor pub that is situated in a posh area of Wallasey.
Once inside there is a large L shaped room with the bar to the left, the the front area has normal tables and chairs, there is a small raised area to the front right, the room extends to the rear right.
The pub is a flaming grill pub so food is a big draw here, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which was as good as it gets, the other beer was GK Abbot.
There were TVs which were showing football.
This is a decent enough pub if you want a meal and a drink in decent surroundings.

Just watched the ashes, no volume, and whoever was controlling the tv turned over immediately the last ball was bowled so they could watch Chelsea Fulham for 2 mins, we are in Merseyside! No chance to see or hear the celebrations. Don't know if this was the manager, but how selfish and no consideration for others. Sums up the pub really. As usual poor service all round.
