Is it the New Sun Inn or is it La Fardy, I’ve no idea, but what I do know is that it’s a weird place, like a cross between a pub and an Eastern European bar. Little known Czech beers alongside Holts lagers and marble effect tile flooring alongside a royal blue carpet. Chuck in an Eastern European owner, 90s dance music, an inquisitive sniffy Staffy and a couple of aging Mancunian locals and you have the makings of a Channel 4 sitcom. My visit was on a Monday night, so maybe things are a bit more normal in here during busier times, especially on Saturday evenings when there is regular live music advertised. Having been knocked through this is now a single room pub, but it still isn’t the biggest place so I expect the bookings are solo acts. Sky Sports is also advertised. This isn’t a pub I’ll be revisiting.

A small 2 roomed pub. A pool room is to your immediate right on entering with the rest of the pub sort of J-shaped. A clean enough pub with a pleasant enough beer garden to the rear. No real ale now and no handpumps.

As you enter there's one large room directly in front of you and a smaller room to the right with a pool table. In the main room there's a dartboard, TV's showing Sky & Racing UK, a jukebox and also a DJ/Karaoke rig in the corner. It's all very slightly faded, but not bad at all really even though the landlady is trying to get it refurbished soon. Real ale has been introduced here fairly recently as the landlady used to have the Swan & Railway in Wigan when it was GBG listed. At the moment the level of trade only allows her to have one real ale on at a time which was Box Steam Tunnel Vision on my visit, Everards Pumpkin Ale was next on. She'd love to have a second beer on, but it's early days yet, so who knows. My pint was in good nick though and I wish her well. I'd happily call back next time I'm in the area.
