Alan Winfield left this review about The Gold Cup

The Gold Cup is a proper old basic pub that is on the busy stockport road, the lower half of the pub has got cream tiles.
Once inside there were a couple of rooms that i noticed and i had a drink in the bar which was fairly basic but a decent enough room.
When i visited this pub it was a Whitbread tied house and there was one real ale on the bar this was Whitbread Trophey bitter and this was a fairly decent drink.
I quite like these sort of pubs and it is nice to see that the pub is still open.
