Adjacent to the Metrolink, the Bricklayers Arms has traditional décor with a central U-shaped bar counter that supports standard keg. During a recent early evening visit there were lots of teenagers lounging in the front pool and dart area, the tables full of devices charging on every available plug socket. There is a separate seating area opposite the bar counter to the right where more teenagers could be found. Across the rear is a strip of seating and in the right rear corner was a balloon arch for the 50th Birthday celebrations of one of the pub’s elders. The background music was from my era and I found the barmaid to be very friendly. This pub’s location means that I may pop back in again if passing, maybe when the sun is shining so that I can take advantage of the large beer garden out the back. I wouldn’t go out of my way though.

A very neat looking pub, almost next door to Failsworth Metrolink stop. All four rooms are very nicely decorated, the one on the front right has a pool table, the other three are all lounges with standard dining tables and chairs and some decent looking covered bench seating around the walls. There are several large TV screens which were showing sport on my Friday afternoon visit. I was served by a friendly and chatty barmaid (Rebecca), but sadly I had to have a half of fizz as the 2 handpumps are unused. The landlady of this pub is currently also running the Pack Horse further up the road which has cask ale. She told me that she is thinking of putting a cask ale on here as well. This is a nice pub which gets an extra point for Rebecca and her friendly service, but sadly loses it again for having no real ale.

The Bricklayers is a traditional four roomed community pub right next to Failsworth's new Metrolink station, and found it clean and tidy with a fair amount of dark wood including the decorative bar.
