With time to kill before attending a game at the stadium opposite, we decided to try to get into the Beavertown Corner Pin. It's home supporters only, but this didn't seem to present a problem for us.
Inside was busy, as you'd expect for a matchday. We queued for the ground floor bar before trying to take our drinks into the courtyard at the rear, which has its own bar. The outdoor area was actually even more packed than the front bar. So, we retreated back indoors. A later trip to the first-floor toilets revealed that there was also an upstairs room available for drinking, which I expect would have given us a much more relaxing impression.
There's no real ale here. The craft beer selection was limited to Beavertown - Lunar Haze, Lupuloid, Bloody 'Ell, Critical Mass, Young Sun, Neck Oil, Electric Mud, One Of Our Own, Bones Lager & Gamma Ray. I've never found a Beavertown beer I like and that story continued here, with both the Electric Mud & Lunar Haze being distinctly average or possibly below it. Plastic glasses didn't help.
This was a typical pre-match experience and one I doubt I will repeat.

Liked this a lot.Bright and welcoming with murals on the walls.Extensive rear gardens but empty on a cold night.A great range of Beavertown beers inc the one brewed on the kit in the Stadium. My two beers were great.Reasonably priced as well.Good friendly chatty staff but it was a quiet night for customers. The outside of the pub is painted the same colour as parts of my garden so it felt a bit like home.Nobody to nag me about my drinking is a plus.

Newly reopened and comprehensively redecorated by Beavertown, but the new staff were coping very well on an extremely busy NFL match day. Features a fairly small bar, with further seating available upstairs and an outside servery in the rear patio garden. Four craft beers - including Neck Oil (£5.50, which seems a lot, but is still £1.40 cheaper than inside the stadium) - plus a cider on tap.
