Steve C left this review about Sips
This place is a late night dance venue. I walked past a few Saturdays ago and decided not to bother going in as it looked like people were being charged and I didn't think that my barrel belly would fit in with the young crowd. I couldn't help myself a couple of days later though as it was almost empty and I'm very nosey.
It is a large enough place with the vast majority of space being standing/dancing room. There was loud house music thumping out through the speakers and I could fell my hips moving and memories of my youth flashing before my eyes before I felt a twinge and had to sit down for a swig of Guinness, which was well served. There was not much choice of other draught with only Fosters, Stella, Kronenburg, John Smiths and Strongbow being available.
There are a couple of large plasma screens that were showing some random foreign outtake show that one of the staff seemed to be enjoying. There is also a small kitchenette area next to the entrance that housed a couple of deep fat fryers and a dumb waiter.
My disco days have long gone, but I probably would have been found in here every now and again if it was open a few years ago.
