Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Tea Merchant

Housed in a modern block, Fuller's made a reasonable effort of turning this large irregular-shaped space into one of Canary Wharf's better places for a pint in its previous guise as the Cat & Canary. I was therefore interested to see what had changed on my first re-visit since it was remodelled and refurbished as the Tea Merchant. The layout seems less cluttered now - a much needed improvement during the busiest vertical drinking period - but this means fewer seats (and the row of booths along the main façade are firmly laid up for those dining). There is a further dining area on a small glazed mezzanine called The Cabin that I've never noticed before, plus all the outdoor tables on the dockside terrace overlooking West India Quay that were always the best feature. The furniture and decor have moved from the semi-traditional slightly towards the semi-modern, losing features such as the dartboard in the process. Now has two banks of four handpumps, but with duplicated clips the choice was Pride, Oliver's Island and ESB (£4.70) plus Bath Ales Gem as a guest.

E TA left this review about Cat & Canary

A Fullers U-shaped corner bar next to a footbridge over the water, a small seating terrace at the front. Inside is decorated with wood panelling, subdued carpet, gaming machines and a Georgian-style fireplace to give it a traditional pub feel. There is various rugby-related clutter dotted around the walls and ceiling, though the large projector and smaller TV screens were showing soccer. The beer is not well kept: I had pints of ESB and Dark Star Hophead, both short of top form. The staff were friendly, though, the WiFI worked and the clientele were less pretentious than in many of the nearby McBars.

Rex Rattus left this review about Cat & Canary

Like just about everything in Canary Wharf, the Cat & Canary is a new build - this one on the ground floor of one of the slightly less a monstrous office blocks along Fishermans Walk. Inside there are several discrete areas that are available for private hire, a couple of which had been booked for such when I was in on Wednesday afternoon. There are the usual modern mix of tall tables/tall stools and normal tables and chairs.

But this pub's best feature is its outside seating along the frontage facing out over West India Quay. It's nice enough to sit outside on a nice day, but it's still essentially corporate Canary Wharf. However, with Fuller's beers available (Chiswick, ESB and Pride), plus a couple of guests from Moncada and Butcombe breweries, it has to be one of the better places in this part of the world.
