Massive high ceilinged pub with rear area for dining and a very busy garden.Three London cask beers from Sambrookes ,Trumans and London Beer Factory.Very pleasant pub.

Rex Rattus left this review about The Rye

There were three ales on when I visited - Adnam's Mosaic, GK IPA, and Truman's Swift (£1.95 a half). There were single sheet menus on all the tables, with nothing much like pub grub on it. There's stuff like "Truffle mac and cheese, chestnut mushrooms, pickled shallots & watercress" for 10.5 (or £10.50 in real money I guess). The "leg of lamb steak, chickpeas, njuda (!?), peppers and salsa verde" is 14.5. I noted a deal available on Thursdays which gave you two bavette steaks and a bottle of Bordeaux for £29.50. No curry and a pint for six quid in here! I didn't eat in here.

I hadn't planned to visit this pub, but walking down from Peckham Rye Station in the pouring rain I decided a refuge stop was due. It's obviously a heavily modernised pub. It's bare-boarded of course with what looks like the original boards, simple and traditional chairs with normal tables in the main, but with some tall tables and tall benches to the left of the servery, and some long tables on the right with a backless wooden bench on one side. At the back there's a conservatory where all the tables were laid for diners, and to the back of that there's a garden. The bar counter looks original (although now painted an off white colour) as does the bar back.

There was a TV on showing some sports channel, and some unnecessary (in my, probably minority, opinion anyway) pop music was banging away. There's a brick built and smoke stained fireplace on the right. My Truman's Swift was fine, but this is not really the sort of pub to which I would return.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Rye Hotel

The Rye is a large looking pub that faces a grassed area where peckham rye road divides into two roads.
Once inside there was a large room with the bar facing this room wrapped around the bar,the seating was a mix of normal tables and chairs and chesterfield settees, there was an area to the rear which was up a few steps this area was oblonged shaped with normal tables and chairs.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of London Fields Love Not War which went down well, the other beers were Gk IPA / Abbot and a beer from Trumans which was called Swallow or something like that.
The pub was very busy with people dining in the front area of the pub.
This was a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
