10 am opener, which can be handy. It was for me, but thinking maybe a little too early for beer (and it is Shep's) I asked for a coffee. I could tell the barman was lying when he said they didnt do coffee. He just couldn't be arsed. Him and his work colleague then went on to slag off last customers very loudly. Which is fine, if they are politicians.

I've never seen a pub with less furniture - a handful of high stools in a sea of wood. I know the reason for this. Many years ago, I was here and it was similarly empty. Then suddenly all the politicians came in en masse and it was a total scrum. The division bell, did not call them back. It hasn't been operation since 2010.

Good things - the bar back is gorgeous.

A solid Westminster pub, if that is not a contradiction in terms. One room, quite woody and traditional, with a limited number of seats leaving room for vertical drinking, which nonetheless also takes over the road outside if the weather permits. Another room upstairs has its own bar and is mainly used for functions. Being a Shepherd Neame pub it only has their beers and I was a little surprised that several of the cask ales had run out by mid-evening, if indeed they had been on at all. If all on they would have had Spitfire, Master Brew, Whitstable Bay, Bishop's Finger and Cobnut.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Westminster Arms

Small, usually busy and thus difficult to find somewhere to sit. However, there are few small tables out front plus Storey's Wine Bar in the cellar (never visited) and 'Queen Anne's English Dining Room' upstairs (ditto). I was disappointed to find just three of the seven handpumps in use on this revisit, offering Master Brew, Whitstable Bay Pale (£5.40) and Spitfire and no guest beers as a Shepherd Neame pub. Customer service can be a bit variable, but the beer is always in excellent condition in my experience. Handy for the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the QEII Conference Centre.
