Fantastic Charringtons brown glazed tiling exterior but sadly the interior is totally stripped out with a modern bar running down the left wall punctuated by an entrance to the kitchen. The apex door gives access, there is a real fire nearby and all the tables are dining style but you can sit anywhere to just drink. The menu looked interesting with modern British tapas dishes, meat cuts and cures along with pizze. There is a function room on the first floor.
The soundtrack was terrific, the bar staff very friendly and the two handpumps were drawing Doom Bore and St Austell Proper Job (decent,NBSS 3.5,£3.10 the helf).Maybe I wont return just for a beer although I do like Proper Job,but I might be tempted to have a pop at the food, which is really this pubs raison d'etre.

Old tiled exterior with the interior as described below. 2 real ales and food served. I didn't visit the upstairs area.

This is a fairly large corner pub exhibiting some interesting (but dilapidated) Charrington's tilework. Inside, it's essentially a large L-shape with a single end bar. The drinks' selection isn't large and only Bombardier was available; another pump had the clip reversed. The interior is quite bare with exposed floorboards; a large number of simple wooden tables and chairs are arranged in the manor of a refectory; this pub is big on food.

The lavatories are much improved - previously there was a solitary WC cubicle to cater for every man's needs. They still aren't great but now there's also a new urinal room, the two urinals virtually touching and it's so small that if you use the left urinal, your bum rests on the basin meaning that your partner - sorry neighbour - can't wash his hands. The men's WC is not only unisex, but doubles as a disabled loo and baby changing facility, which isn't really on. Yes, plus points for a disabled loo, but it should be separate.

Of late, the windows have been plastered with A4 pages screaming to punters that thieves operate in the area - this is Primrose Hill not the East End of Charles Dickens. My main objection to this pub is the presence of unsupervised and noisy dogs. They lie in isles and create dangerous tripping hazards and on a recent visit one even wandered across the pub and into the kitchen; another barked loudly and often.

This pub is short on character though is hugely popular at weekends (furniture is also arranged around the outside perimeter), but the barking dog finally drove me out of the pub and on to pastures new.

Oh and by the way: this pub calls time at 10.30 during the week.
