Graham Coombs left this review about The Bell Hotel (JD Wetherspoon)

Slightly rambling conversion of an old inn on the marketplace. The two main front rooms lead through to a bar in the back with a few odd areas between, including a bit of a yard in the centre. A reasonable selection of local and national beers were available. A reasonably effective Wetherspoons.

Old Boots left this review about The Bell Hotel (JD Wetherspoon)

An old inn, it does now do accommodation, after being taken on by Wetherspoons. It has a multiroom or multi space layout with a long thin bar room at the back and various spaces to the front including a large sitting/dining area looking out over the Market Place, a small snug like area and a garden in the middle. Standard four plus four pump arrangement with the standards and local guests interspersed. Only had the one but quality was very good, it's a small counter to work, it was a quiet afternoon so the service was crisp and professional. There was also a good crop of the stereotypical JDW punters. Usual local worthy display boards oddly including Scottish racing driver Sir Jackie Stewart who appears to live locally.

Aylesbury's other Spoons also dates back to Summer 2010 and couldn't be more different from the White Hart. It's an original inn but not currently one of their chain of hotels although that may change.
The layout is typical of their more recent conversions of original pubs with spacious eating areas at the front and the narrow bar area right aat the back. The bar area is quite Olde Worlde with beams and an old fireplace to the right.
There are two banks of four hand pumps which is where this place let itself down on my visit. All the clips were turned apart from 3 which had Abbot, Red Squirrel London Porter and White Park Moonshine. These are all 5% ABV beers which didn't bother me but there are plenty of people that prefer weaker beers especially at lunchtime. I went for the Moonshine which was excellent.
I liked this place a lot and would have considered giving it a 9 but have to mark it down for the ludicrous beer situation. As two of the beers available were Locale I'm giving it a 7.
