Village pub in a pretty village that has a green at its centre with roads circling it. The pub sits on a bank and overlooks the green.

The L-shaped room was busy on our Sunday lunchtime visit, with many tables reserved for diners.

Service at the bar seemed a bit flustered. At least 3 different people, including the landlord got involved in our order, whilst the card machine was also playing up. Nevertheless, the pub is in the current Good Beer Guide and has a decent and quickly revolving ale selection. The regular beer is the local Dow Bridge Acris, which occupies two separate handpulls. Guests on our visit were Grainstore Ten Fifty, Charnwood Try Hopped & Milestone Black Pearl. There was no sign of a real cider.

A good village local that is worth seeking out.

Lovely community local in a wonderfully pretty Leicestershire village. The pub exterior is modest and isn't obvious, you need to keep an eye out as it's at an angle to the road – look out for the unprepossessing tall pub sign. Inside is a gently opened-out multi-area’d layout, one of which is under a brick arch. Light and bright with a chunk of rural character, including a flagstone floor. To the rear is a tidy tiered garden which looks to be a summer winner. GBG20 listed and there were five ales on; Old Growler (NBSS 4), Castle Rock Elsie Mo, Bradfield Farmers Blonde (4), Beavoir Bitter and Dowbridge Acris (4), served-up by a chatty landlord. There’s a good community hub here, as evidenced by the Community Christmas Card, a new one on me but a simple premise – save money and save the planet – don’t send a card to every house in the village, put a tenner in the charity pot and sign this big one on the pub wall. Only one spare table left on the afternoon session post Boxing Day, testament to pub’s popularity. Really enjoyed my visit, a proper village local well-worth seeking out.

Alan Winfield left this review about Chandlers Arms

The Chandlers Arms is a proper old pub that is in a very quiet village, the pub has a bare brick front and it is on a hill.
Once inside the bar faces as you enter, this area has got a stone floor and a few bench saets, there is a small raised area to the right this area was carpeted and had normal tables and chairs there was a lower level to the left which looked more like a dining room and lounge.
There was a very good choice of micro beers on the bar with five real ales on,i had a drink of Julian Church Vicar of Dribley and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Church End Gravediggers Ale, Dowbridge Acris, Bradfield Farmers Blonde and Bath Ales Barnstormer.
This was a really nice pub to sit in and relax over a very nice drink.
