Soup Dragon left this review about The Nags Head

This is a detached pub and eatery, with patio, beer garden and kid's play area - in fact, not only that, but there are; goats, pigs, ponies and birds for the kids to look at. The pub is really interesting, likely already in operation as a pub by 1851, the building, or parts of it, is much older. It is an elongated cottage, in cream render and red paintwork, with the outside showing signs of building alterations, especially to the windows. The interior has three areas and again, you can see how the building was altered. The back area is open, and is the restuarant area. It is mainly in white, with some brick and patterned paper, and has some bistro and horse (nags head) pictures on the walls and a small fireplace. As you head towards the bar, you are funnelled into what was a former corridor which had rooms off to the left and right. The one to the right, whilst still separate, allows views into the dining area. It has a bonquette seat and has similar art to the restaurant area. The other room is separate and is in white. It has TV (Sky Sports News), books and a few ornaments. There is a brick fireplace and the music was general and quiet. The service was fine and most of the people were outside enjoying the animals and a bouncy castle (private function). Beer; usual tap stuff with Marston's Pedigree and Bitter, which was decent enough. This is a nice place, with something different for the kids. The tad bland real ale choice lets it down a little, but it was well kept. Something for most people here.
