Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Lime Kilns

Fine canal-side pub, with a partly covered beer garden down by the waterway. The main, partly opened-out, L-shaped bar is up at the higher Watling Street level (as it passes over the navigation), but an extra room can be found below. I found Landlord, Tribute and an excellent Butty Bach from Wye Valley (£4.30) being served from three of the five handpumps.

Not a huge amount to add to the accurate review below.
If you're arriving by boat watch the bank as it's very wet.
Food is available and there's a lunch/light meals menu as well as a more extensive menu with more substantial meals. We went for the lunch menu which was reasonably priced with nothing over a fiver and home cooked. You can't really go wrong with this.
Beer: all Marston's - Pedigree, Burton Bitter, Bridge 51 on a homemade pump clip and Jennings Cocker Hoop. The Pedigree was in good nick.
Well worth stopping in to this friendly boozer if you're ever passing.

Bang on the A5,but also canalside to the Ashby Canal, this Marston's tied house is really quite small but very cosy. The entrance from the carpark is at the lower ground floor level, where there is an entrance to the Boatman's Bar,unused on our visit and looking like more of a summer operation when the beer garden is being used and it would be a fag to have to climb the stairs to get drinks from the main servery.Once up the stairs, the tap room has two sections,a square area opposite the bar with a large seating banquette around the walls, and lots of canalia dotted about, including some patrol notices for miscreants who moor for greater than the alotted 48 hours at the visitor moorings opposite.Views over the A5,but very efficient double glazing means you are hardly aware of the passing traffic. The other section away from the bar overlooks the canal and seems more a spot to enjoy the wholesome and well cooked pub grub, from a range of snacks to full meals at reasonable prices. There is a real fire against one wall here.
Beers from the Marston's portfolio , both my Jennings Cocker Hoop and Pedi were in good nick, the GBG 2014 listing is deserved. The house brew Bridge 15 is a 4% rebadged Banks's beer.
A very friendly and chatty welcome, and a real pub atmosphere place this pub firmly on the list for a revisit.Well worth popping in whatever your mode of transport, and most definitely a proper boating pub.
