Attractive old pub in the High Street. Bulls Head ale, Abbots, Bass, Holden's Golden Glow and Amber Ales Barnes Wallis available when I called in. I tried the latter which was fine. Friendly service. I would happily call again.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Bulls Head

One of the oldest buildings in Ashby dating back to 1598, which is evident when you view the original exposed timbers in the front snug on the left of entrance, pity about the garish red painted walls. The main bar is situated on the right, which is a decent size, hosting a long oak bar and exposed brick wall behind the bar.
The pub extends back to a good sized mid-section with flat screen TV's and a DJ box. Along a further corridor brings you out to a rear patio area.
A disappointing array of ales on handpump on our visit, GK IPA, Abbott and two Pedigree.

Will Larter left this review about The Bulls Head

The steet appearance of this pub is a traditional cruck framed building, but once inside the door it's apparent that the pub has been extended into the much more modern brick building to the right. The bar is here, with a large drinking area around it and numerous large TV screens showing sports. The older building is accessed to the left, where it's much quieter and the original curved frame can be clearly seen still. There are other exposed beams and pillars in this part, though most of them are much more recent. On a quiet day I expect it would be quite pleasant here, but on a Saturday afternoon this was not much better than the Lamb across the road. There were three or four hand pumps, one of which I think had Greene King IPA (I had a bus to catch so my notes are sketchy) but another had Everards Tiger, which was OK.
