Like many similar establishments, The Wilton Arms started off, not as a formally licensed pub but as an alehouse, an ordinary home which started selling beer.
It would appear the seller, and possibly the brewer of the beer was a woman named Betty. It seemed Betty was on to a good thing because The Wilton Arms is more popular than ever.
Guests will be able to browse a new menu which includes a wide variety of freshly prepared classic pub dishes such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. There is also a separate lunch menu offering freshly made sandwiches and salads, perfect if you’re just nipping in for a quick bite.
