Steve C left this review about Queens Hotel

Queens Hotel is a U shaped pub a little of the beaten track so it is very much a local community venue. The bar is found on the rear wall and there is seating to the left and opposite the bar in the front window area. To the right of the bar are a pool table and a plasma screen that was turned off. A plasma screen on the left wall was showing Ashes highlights courtesy of Sky Sports. There were around fifteen other customers when I walked in at 21:00 on Wednesday evening last week, including some children even though there are signs up on the walls saying that all children must leave by 20:30. I suppose it is the summer holidays and they were all very well behaved!
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the three hand pumps were drawing Thwaites Wainwright, Royal Delivery and Lancaster Bomber. Cheap pub food is advertised, but I didn’t see the kitchen operating times.
At the rear of the pub is a beer garden full of picnic tables and a grass covered area with some children’s playground apparatus.
There are different things that go on throughout the week including the Tuesday quiz, Wednesday bingo (not when I visited) and Friday karaoke/disco which all start at 20:30. On Thursdays from 13:30 is the pensioner special which costs £4.50 and includes bingo, tea/coffee and old time music.

I’d use this pub is I lived locally but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.
