This listed Victorian pub dating from 1834 is now a traditional town boozer, carpeted front bar with tv screen and a raised area to the rear with a pool table, open fireplace, various football memorabilia around the walls and ceiling. Friendly barman, lots of good blokey banter, and an ok jukebox. Occasional live music acts. Two ales on (GK IPA and Courage Best), plus a cider and a perry. I had the gravity poured Duddas Tun cider which was in perfect condition, and thoroughly enjoyable. This is a superb pub which would make an excellent addition to a town crawl.
